Hi, I'm Katina. Reading and writing poetry began late in life after exploring creative pursuits like back-up singing in a band, acting, writing short plays and an unpublished novel. In 2007, shortly after moving to Greece from Australia, I attended a poetry workshop by A.E. Stallings on the island of Spetses. This experience ignited a love of poetry but constant travel for my work and completing a masters in coaching shelved my nascent poem-making until 2023. Since then, poetry has become an essential practice in my life. I have had the privilege of working with wonderful mentors like Shira Erlichman and the faculty at Pacific University, Oregon—including Chris Abani, Ellen Bass, Tyree Daye, and Dorianne Laux—where I’m currently enrolled in the poetry MFA program.

I’m a Greek-Australian and live with my beloved husband, Nick, between Kythira (my maternal grandparents’ birthplace) and Athens. My greatest passion has always been people: what motivates us, meaningful connections, communication, inner work and alignment with our outer lives, emotions, our bodies, loss, and what it means to live a good life.
